Erlene Lingle vividly recalls making teacakes with her grandmother. She can almost smell the nutmeg, and remembers how her grandmother would roll out the dough for each cake.
FABULOUS LEE COUNTY

Twenty of the things you just love about Lee County are right here to read all about in Lee Magazine!
Principal Survivor

Beebe was a contestant on the eighteenth season of the reality show, “Survivor,” traveling to the desert highlands of Brazil hoping to win $1 million dollars and avoid snakes — both reptilian and human — survive insects, endure hunger, suffer bone-chattering cold and enervating heat, and participate in a series of challenges that brought either a reward or protection against being voted out of the game by teammates.
Staying put and loving it

I sit by a flowing stream, listening as each droplet trickles down a tiny mountain of rocks. Barefoot and relaxed after my mid-afternoon yoga session by the lake and a lunchtime cocktail with my husband, I sink further into the chaise longue. What will I do next? Soak in the hot tub? THE FABRIC OF LIFE

She is small — small enough to make a playhouse of a quilt draping over a quilting frame. Webb, her constant companion, huddles with her, fenced in by the legs of the stitching ladies. The children play jacks. Little rocks stand in for the jacks, and a bigger rock for the ball. Webb, six months her junior, is Mozell’s nephew. Sometimes he thinks they’re twins. They might as well be. They share twins’ conspiracies, secrets, and hiding places. Every once in awhile, Mozell’s mother interrupts their
